A BIT ABOUT MY STUDIO

Lessons

I offer lessons for 30 min, 45 min, and 60 min once a week. 30 min lessons are best suited for beginners, 45 min lessons for intermediate level students and 60 min lessons for advanced students. I recommend the parents attend the first 3 or 4 lessons to see how student needs to practice and how to help them.

Practicing

Students will be asked to practice 5 times a week with varying length based on difficulty level. Beginner students should practice 15 min each day and as time goes on they'll be asked to practice 30 min a day and on to 45- 60 min.

Students will need to write down when and how long they practice in a practice book that will contain their weekly assignments. Parents will be required to sign off on how often they practiced.

Tuition

Tuition is $15.00 per 30 min lesson depending on how many weeks in the month there are. A month of 4 weeks will be $60.00.

Tuition will be due the first of the month, this can be paid via check or cash. If payment has not been received by the 10th of the month there will be a $10.00 late fee attached.

Cancellation

Cancelled lessons due to sickness will be given the opportunity for reschedule. If a student does not show up for their lesson without prior discussion they will still be charged.

If student does not go to school due to illness please do NOT bring them to lessons. We will figure out a different day and time to make up their lesson. Please be mindful of the health of others.

Books

Books will be need to be purchased before the first lesson and can be found at the local music store. The Music Tree Method is the primary method used in my studio with the "Primer" lesson book and activity book being used each week.

If parent would like me to get the books for you there will be a 10% handling charge included with purchase. If the student continually does not come to lessons with their books I will insist that I provide the books and parent will be required to pay for the books along with the handling charge.

If there is a different method book that parent would like used we will discuss as needed.

Recitals and Group Lessons

We will hold two recitals each year to showcase the talent each student has gained during the year. One during December (this will be entirely Christmas/Winter Holiday music) and one during May.  These recitals will be semi-formal and students are expected to dress as such. These recitals are designed for students to become comfortable performing in front of others.

Group lessons will be held throughout the year to give students a chance to perform in front of their peers in an informal environment. They will also play games that help them learn different musical concepts.

Termination

If a parent decides to discontinue lessons I ask that they notify me a month in advanced so I can complete different concepts that we are working on. This will ensure that the student is not left in the middle of a concept. If I am not informed a month in advance of the change then the parent will need to pay until the end of the month that they stop.

I have the right to terminate a students if they are consistently not practicing or being habitually disrespectful. In these cases I will ask to meet with parents and possibly students depending on the situation. We will discuss the reason for the termination and the options left to parents and student.

I would love to give your child the gift of playing the instrument that has given me much joy throughout my life! Give me a call or send me an email! I'd LOVE to chat!
